Overview

  • Launch Academy is seeking a Placement and Talent Manager (preferably, a seasoned recruiter or business development associate) to execute placement and career services for our Washington, DC location headquartered in Dupont Circle.
  • Our Washington, DC concept, known as 'Prism Shift,' will challenge the status quo by offering a coding bootcamp exclusively for those who identify as women.   • We strive to provide a best-in-class experience for our Hiring Partners and graduating developers. As such, we are always tinkering and finding new ways to improve. Our agile education approach and the ever-evolving technical needs of our Hiring Partners ensures our curriculum and the technologies we teach will remain current. The result is that our graduating developers are able to provide immediate value and understand the demands of working in fast-paced tech environment.
  • Our Full Stack Curriculum runs the full spectrum of modern web technologies. We teach Javascript, Ruby, SQL, HTML, CSS, React, Rails, Sinatra, and Foundation to name a few languages and frameworks.

 

The Challenge

  • Traditional education is broken and we are creating alternative options for people who want to learn the craft of web development and obtain a job as an entry level developer.
  • We've graduated and placed over 500 people to date in Boston and Philadelphia but we have a long way to go to make a substantial impact.  Washington, DC and Prism Shift are the next steps toward putting a dent in the universe.

 

The Role

  • Source new Hiring Partners in Washington, DC and the surrounding market.
  • Manage existing Hiring Partner relationships.
  • Network and attend relevant community events.
  • Work one-on-one with students to learn about their interests, strengths, and job preferences.
  • Collaborate with Career Services team members on soft-skill training and curriculum. 
  • Meticulously track outcomes. 
  • Provide career education support for existing students and alumni.

 

What We're Looking For

  • We're interested in candidates with significant recruiting  or business development experience. It's a plus if that experience is within the technology space in Washington, DC and the surrounding market.
  • An eye for the details.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Collaborative and ready to bring new ideas to the table. 
  • Passion for closing the tech skills gap and making education more accessible.
  • Empathy for customers and colleagues. 
  • Growth mindset - someone who's excited by a challenge and always looking to learn and expand their skill set.
